New COVID Mask Requirements – Effective 8/12/21
In response to an increase in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations from the Delta variant, and considering recent guidance from the CDC*, Church Council voted this week that all persons are required to wear masks indoors at all times while on church property.
Worshippers should continue to be mindful of social distancing during fellowship and while seated. Exceptions to the mask requirement are individuals serving in the chancel area of the sanctuary during worship while socially distanced and organization meetings which are not affiliated with the church where release forms have been signed
We continue to pray for the health and safety of our church community and we encourage all persons who are able, to be fully vaccinated.
* Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is recommending that fully vaccinated Americans wear masks indoors if they are in an area of substantial or high coronavirus transmission. Community transmission rates are based on two measurements taken over a rolling seven-day average. These are the percentage of positive test results and the number of new cases per 100,000 people. As of August 11, New Castle County meets the criteria for substantial coronavirus transmission.
