A Loving Toddler & Preschool Program

for Children 18 months through PreKindergarten

 

The Early Learning Center's mission is to encourage the cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and language development of our children in a healthy environment which is both positive and loving.  Our basic philosophy has remained unchanged since the ELC was established in 1977. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL  CHILDREN PROGRAMS

CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL

Faith Zone, our Sunday School program, is available for ages 3 and up on Sundays @ 10:45. Faith Zone is held in the "Big House" (the building at the Old Lancaster Pike entrance to HUMC), which is the center for children and youth activities.

 

NURSERY

 

We offer care for infants and toddlers during all of our services

and many of our other activities. Nursery and child care services are available for children under the age of 5 at 9 a.m. and under the age of 3 at 11 a.m

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Each summer we offer a one week themed Vacation Bible School for children ages 3 years old up to 5th grade

MIDDLE SCHOOL & HIGH SCHOOL

CONFIRMATION

Confirmation is our 7th grade program designed to prepare students for membership in Hockessin United Methodist Church. This program aims to help our students grow spiritually through Bible study and socially through youth programs and trips.

MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH 

(6th-8th grade)

SUNDAY EVENING

Middle School Youth Group meets from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Founder's Hall on Sunday evenings of each month from September through May.  Join us!  

HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH 

(9th-12th grade)

SUNDAY EVENING

 

High School Youth Group meets from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Founder's Hall on Sunday evenings of each month from September through May.  Join us!


YOUTH Praise Band

 A band for middle school to high school students. They play on a rotational basis at our  services.

APPALACHIA SERVICE PROJECT

During the month of June, teams of youth and adults travel to Appalachia to help repair and upgrade homes to be warmer and drier. Preparation starts in the fall with fund-raisers, Bible Study and skill development.
