Youth & Children's Ministry
Missions to the WorldGod depends on all of us to be servants in the world. Our families and our community depend on the gifts that we willingly share in and outside the walls of the church. We understand that while some ministry necessarily takes place within the church building, most ministry is shared outside the walls of the church.
A Hearty Welcome

Dear Friends & Members of of Hockessin United Methodist,
It is with sadness we inform you that Pastor John celebrated his "final victory" on Sunday, July 13th! Just as he did for 39 years, John would have been preaching his message at 11:30 a.m. when He transitioned from this life to God's eternal home. But, resting in God's eternal care, he is finally at peace! We thank God for John's life and ministry and for having had the privilege of being blessed in a number of ways.
Please continue to surround Janet, John's sons, Chris, Ethan & Tyler, Janet's children, Merit & Dan, and the rest of the family in prayer as we begin the journey to mourn and celebrate John's amazing life!
A Celebration of Life will take place at Hockessin United Methodist Church on Friday, July 18 at 12:30 p.m., with a time of gathering & meeting the family from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
The family requests that all attendees wear their most "happy outfit"!

“You will only make this journey once, what kind of journey will it be?”
In this culmination of a lifetime of ministry experience and spiritual insight, Dr. Graham leads you on a journey in faith. You'll learn about God, his purpose for your life, and what Jesus has done for you. You'll be reminded that God has given you the Holy Spirit and other tools to live successfully. Grounded in daily Christian living, you'll also find practical advice on knowing God's will, making right decisions, and using your gifts to share Christ with others. No matter where you are along the journey of life, "The Journey" will help you make the most of it! This magnum opus from Billy Graham, seasoned with many personal stories from his own life, offers wisdom, encouragement, hope, and inspiration for anyone who wants to make the most of their journey. The second 6-week session, Living as a Christian will start May 18 at 11:00 a.m. in Room 18, led by Bob and Kathy Heffelfinger. Is your love for other believers growing? Is your faith in God a topic of conversation among other believers? Is God's work your work? If you answer "yes" to these questions, you are growing spiritually. If you answered "no", your road to spiritual growth may be filled with obstacles. Just as our physical lives need nourishment, our spiritual lives need the nourishment provided by Scripture and our fellow believers. Living as a Christians explores ways to become aware of God's presence and direction in every step on our journey of life. Call Bob or Kathy at 239-2964, for more information.

During the week, participants have one hour of reading and a half hour of Bible reading. Then the group comes together to explore what they have read, view a 12-minute video, and discuss the reading and video in relation to current ministries lived out by our congregation.
Join Sara Thompson & Karen Goodwin in Room 4 on Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m. to begin living in the flow of the Spirit as you graciously explore God’s invitation to “become part of God’s work in transforming the world!”
